Aperture Magazine chose her photos to promote the reopening of Ellis Island after the restoration was complete. Camera and Darkroom Magazine did a feature story about her work. Several of her images are in the National Archives in Washington, DC.

Carrie is founder of Wisdom Tribe Films, an investigative, documentary and feature film company exploring the world we live in. Wisdom Tribe Films looks beneath the surface to find meaningful connections in our traditional and spiritual history by traveling to places of mystery and interviewing the bravest and boldest of our time. The resulting stories are presented both in narrative documentary style and in creative feature films.
Wisdom Tribe Films has recently joined forces with Lauri Hakola of Reel West Studios and Antonio Weiss of Paragweiss Productions. The newly reorganized Wisdom Tribe Films has the synergistic strength of Carrie’s background in photography, filmmaking and management; Lauri Hakola’s extensive background in film and television production and Antonio Weiss’s writing and directorial expertise. With locations in New York and Santa Fe, New Mexico, Wisdom Tribe Films has the added advantage of a highly diversified workforce which brings an ever broadening perspective on the world around us to its productions.
Work History
Carrie’s work brought her in contact with leading photographers and curators around the world. As the department head to one of the premiere photographic laboratories located in New York City, her high end clients ranged from Richard Avedon to Irving Penn and from the Smithsonian Institute to Christie's Auction House.
She is an expert in the field of black and white film processes from film processing to printing, restoration to examination. Considered by Kodak and Ilford as a technical expert she was utilized to troubleshoot and beta test numerous pieces of newly designed equipment, film, paper and chemicals. She was called upon by leading science and historical organizations for film analysis concerning artifact and processing anomalies. This included work on NASA Apollo images and motion film. Her extensive personal image work of infrared photography made her an expert in that medium. She has lectured in all aspects of photography, from shooting to presentation, and from film to digital mediums.
Carrie was granted the high distinction of being a Master Black and White printer. She personally printed many of the images now at the John F. Kennedy Museum in Massachusetts along with many other museum and gallery exhibits.
Carrie is also co-owner of The Dog Star Group, Inc., a logistics company of big trucks working in the expedite field. Our trucks and drivers are first responders with the necessary goods and supplies during times of crisis. We were in New York City after 9/11 delivering Plasma and Silverdyne (a burn medication). We delivered a mobile hospital ward to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina and we brought in pumps during the floods at Grand Forks in North Dakota. Our services range from making sure that "the show must go on" with the biggest names in rock and roll to delivering fresh water to Florida's hurricane victims. Every day on the job is different and we never know where the next call will send us. Recently, The Dog Star Group, Inc was awarded Fed Ex Custom Critical's prestigious "Four Star Award" for excellence.
